Try uninstalling your Logitech Control Center software and drivers. I finally found a forum and tried this and works great now. I had to install the latest drivers first from Logitech's site since the older one was corrupt and then uninstall in the utilities folder. No more freezing for me.

I almost took my Mac into Apple to get serviced yesterday.

I don't think that's the solution because I don't have any Logitech hard- or software.

i checked out my late rmbp 13" specs and my display was build in week 4 2013 !!!

i do not know yet if it is lg or samsung but probably all 13" models are lg.

lg is known for ghosting and image retention problems

some users report their late 2013 displays was build in 2012 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so maybe we are not only facing with this trackpad / keyboard bug.

i did not run any display testing programs yet.

way off topic but people should know about that.

Same problem here MBP 13" Haswell hangs/halts for the 2nd time this week.

My other late 98' Macbook running on Mavericks runs flawless, so maybe it is the hardware. Has Apple made an statement how to solve this problem?

U" CPU, that has a PCH(otherwise known as Southbridge) on package with the CPU. So it doesn't have a seperate chip, as with the standard voltage 37W, 47W, and 55W 4th Gen Core "Haswell" chips, and also the Desktop chips.

The on-package PCH is identified by "ID9C43" or "Haswell-ULT" on the CPU-Z section. "ID8C4B is the seperate PCH used by non U and Y Haswell chips. Those needed revision.

    Summary:

    -4th Gen Core with "U" or "Y" suffix are not affected. For example, Core i5 4200U, Core i7 4650U, Core i7 4558U, Core i7 4610Y

-4th Gen Core that's non U or Y is affected, but the second revision was being shipped in September. Desktop chips, H series, M series, and QM, XM.

So according to this, the rMBP late 2013 does not affected by the C1 USB bug.

I bought Macbook Pro Retina 15inch 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, with Nvidia GT 750M, this is my second day, and everything is running ok haven't shut down almost two days now. installing apps and downloading dropbox.

"Knock on Wood" but my first Macbook Pro Retina 15inch 8GB, 512GB SSD, GT 650M logic board died few days ago and suffering horizonlal multicolored noise.

I thought I would share this information here.

As far as I know, all 13" displays are LG. Where did you find the date of manufacture of your display? This show up in system profile somewhere?

I ran the test again today, 10 minutes, grey bumps. No ghosting. It seems, this only happens when my rMBP has been running warm or hot for a while due to heavy work on the GPU.
But again, I guess, running the test for 10 minutes in normal conditions and no ghosting show up means, it's basically okay. I wonder why temperature has an effect on this. But as it seems, it definetly has.

We had discussed this before. All accessable information points to the 13" rMBP not to be affected by the c1 stepping bug. It is very unlikely.
And even if - the c1 bug is quite unimportant. And it would not cause the errors we're facing here.

soooo I've had a USB memory stick in while typing up some documents. And I just took a peek at my console log and there's a new type of error that popped up every 2 secs:

11/5/13 6:19:05.854 AM mdworker[19957]: (Warning) Import: Bad path:

No freezing but this looks concerning......my whole entire log is filled with this error message now.
I was going to wait till day 14 to see if Apple releases a fix to return mine. But I think I'm gonna return it tomorrow. So bummed out. Otherwise a beautiful machine

I just unplugged my USB stick and the message above stopped. But of course, the same old trackpad error is back...

That sounds like there is a problem with that USB-stick. Does it have a fileformat? Which? Can you open it?

Yup! I just plugged it back in and it's working just fine. And the above error message is no longer popping up. HOWEVER, I had this USB plugged in for a few days. And there were no error messages initially either. I went back and looked in my logs, the message started popping up after a few hours of it being plugged it.
