Quote from email received today from Apple Senior Engineer:

"...there is a patch in process that will address this issue. It just has not been released yet."

Not exactly an info-packed update, but progress (and partial affirmation that it's software or firmware).

Otherewise, so far, this thing really rocks (so long as I have my trusty purple USB drive by my side).

Called Apple support. She said "This is the first time I am hearing about it". How can a support personnel not know about a wide spread known issue? I am planning to return this and wait.

Just had my first freeze after using the Macbook for 10 hours spread out over 3 days. Feeling very ****** off. After spending top dollar, you get an experience like this. On another note, this being my first Macbook, I am in love with this thing. Just love the beautiful design and hardware!

This error happened to me again while viewing a video I recorded in Photo Booth. Unplugged at about 65% battery life. Hoping for a fix soon, as I decided not to return it.

    ATTENTION!!!

I tried 4 different DEMO late 2013 13 inch rMBP in different apple store, none of them have the keyboard/track pad error in their system log!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    SMC version: 2.16f58

Why rMBP in the store are all OK ???

The ones in the store probably just disable that part of the log

It's interetsing. If you clear the log and don't touch the trackpad, the error doesn't seem to come up. As soon as you touch the trackpad then it will show. So defintely some software glitch...almost like the trackpad is set to sleep after a few seconds and sometimes doesn't power on again when touched.

Same problem here. My 2.4/8/256 has frozen twice today. Once while working on Excel, and four hours later working on a college website assignment online. Ugh, hoping for a fix soon.

    Hi man,

As far as I know, there's a lock connected to a demo machine through USB port, so there's no error log in console. At least it is like that in Singapore. How about there?

I believe you have to be logged in as an Admin to view the logs.

Apple Stores log display modles in as guests.

There is no any USB connected to the demo machine. and the DEMO machine isn't use guest account, its just a standard account.

There is no sign that part of the log is being hide... and i don't think they will do that too... no point to hide it as apple has no way to hide the error, everyone knows about it now.

so i don't udnerstand why all the demo rMBP has no errors.

Mine has error but no lock up yet.

Same problem for me. I received my Macbook retina late 2013 just 4 days ago and I have had it freeze at least once or twice per day. I really hope Apple fixes this issue soon, otherwise the computer is just perfect.
