The keyboard and the trackpad stops working including brigtness keys and volume control keys. i have use apple hardware test but no problem are found.

It is actually not that easy to make a distinction on what is software and what is hardware issue.

    1. Many hardware issues can be fixed in software using the hardware.

    2. Many hardware issues can be fixed updating the firmware (software in hardware).

So in many cases even hardware issues are eventually software issues. But I hope the fix really works for everyone.

I know but i was pretty sure.

    Hope this fix really works.

Yes. The messages are still there, but:

    1. The guy said that Apple will fix it by keeping the keyboard / trackpad working all the time, but the log message tells you that it wakes up everytime you touch your trackpad or keyboard after their "sleep". So the battery life can be guaranteed.

    2. As the messages are still there, let's see if the firmware update works.

    3. In my opinion, the messages are not "error" logs but info logs.

I just suppose that the log errors are not really linked with freeze of trackpad/keyboard but they are just linked with this version of Mavericks 13A2093. Maybe it will be fixed with 10.9.1...

I yanked the USB and my Console message now only appears when I touch the trackpad.

We'll see, though very glad I still have my unit!

Just updated with the new firmware. And yes, the messages in the console log are still there. I agree with others that these messages are not errors but rather information.

    Hi,

This will be my last post for sure, nothing you said anieblys BTW.  I agree with you and others touting return it to send a message to Apple finance and Sr. Prod Execs (here's a secret; they've already had their collective ***** handed to them by Tim Cook, sshhhh don't tell anyone  ).

If you need to have a functioning unit and are willing to wait for the SOFTWARE BASED FIX that will come out, I suggest using a Blutooth mouse.  I have been using my Apple Bt mouse, predominantly, since I bought this thing on Oct 30th., and 100% of the time there are NO FREEZES.  Bt uses completely different kernel drvier, f/w, and pathing.  This tells me that the problem is centered around the trackpad, since the keyboard is not hanging itself when using the Bt mouse.  Certain people, Supreem and sTrollic, should stop commenting on anything because they are not clueful.  Others on this thread, Oli..., Chris Sanderson, Varac, and some other folks I can't recall now, know what they're talking about...  I personally don't have time for this anymore....  Good luck to all in any event....  It's been real...  THIS is why I don't get on these **** forums very much...

Thank god that was your last post sweetheart, seriously you call someone a troll for pulling you up on your uneducated statements? Hahaha wow you are a sensitive type aren't you, yes please don't come back on these forums for a while, educate yourself then come back on when your equipped with factual knowledge and you can have an adult debate without feeling the requirement to call people trolls as they are better educated than yourself.

Can't agree more. I have tested before. The messages only appear when you touch the keyboard / trackpad after their sleeps. So if you keep typing, the messages don't show because they are too busy to sleep. And also the keyboard / trackpad never sleep with a USB device connected as the messages don't show, right?

The "keyboard/trackpad error" appears even in my 2011 MBP running Mountain Lion and Macbook Air 2012 running Mavericks (Not as often, but the message is still there). I do not think it is related to the freezing problem.

Forget the kernel log messages. Focus on reporting if the actual problem persists or not.

apple has released a new EFI update that claim to resolve this issue, after the update... what happen? the eror message still keep coming up in the log!!!! OMG! looks like it is a hardware issue and they can not fix it from the root, i guess they just make the usb hub never get into sleep to avoid lock up but it will consume more battery.

anyone have the EFI updated and still having the kernel error msg ? like i said before, this is a hardware issue.
