Thank you for clarifying that the messages should still appear in the console even after updating. It's just that no freeze should happen at the same time this messages appears in the log, right? Even after applying the update I still get the messages but no random freezes or so. The message is only to inform you that the trackpad issued a wake up (usually caused by me touching it)

Wahooo!!! We were right!  IT WAS A FIRMWARE ISSUE.  Neener, neener, neener to the trolls!!
I'm guessing, because I really like to do that, ; if you drove around the Cupertino campus over the past several days, oh say at 3AM, you would have seen alot of lit buidlings!  Seven days after FCS, they corrected the issue!  Awesome job FIRMWARE engineering, maybe *they'll* listen in the product readiness review next time when Engineering says 'hey guys we need to fix this first, before we FCS....'!

Downloading the 4.64MB FIRMWARE update right now.

Cheers folks, let's hope this gets it.

so it is time now that apple explain it to us what is the meaning of this whole "kernel usb keyboard" log.

could anyone ask it in the apple store? or have asked about it?

everyone using mavericks but not on 13" retina MBP late 2013, could you report here, whether you are also seeing this log report on your console?

    many thanks for your reports!

Just a guess, but after you do the EFI update, you can look in the Console logs(aka messages log, and others) and you will only see an entry for the USB wake up when there actually is one; ie. coming out of sleep when touching the keybaord/trackpad or other device like a USB mouse.   The streaming entries about wake ups, like before when the machines were very much awake, should go away.

Correct....installed the firmware the minute it arrived.  Only get the log entry when I hit the trackpad.  No freezes.  Unplugged the power after the install and still has 95% with 11 hours remaining.

    So far, I'm lovin' it!

    Hi there,

another rMBP13 with the same problem here.

Just got my laptop and while browsing keyboard and mouse were frozen..

Scared but found the solution by googling  around.

I had to close the lid and wait one minute to sort this out.

Hope this is software related and  will be sorted properly as soon as possible.

    Yeah, I'll never quite understand:

    1) Trolls

    2) Folks who want the newest and yet are unwilling to accept there will be bugs.

Oh well, here's hoping it fixes everyone's issues.

I'm still seeing this, which could be my mis-interpreting the entry as 'it only should happen on a wake up', based on the message.  And you're right, there is an entry for every touch of the trackpad.  No freezes yet, and before the EFI f/w flash, mine would have frozen by now.  Thinking that maybe they pushed this out to address the code, and will fix the logger, later....just a guess.  IMHO I don't think there should be a messages log entry every time you touch the trackpad, kind of excessive if that's the case.  The logs will truncate, and don't take up much space anyway, I don't like the interrupts necessary to make all those entries though, unnecessary overhead.

NO FREEZES THOUGH AND THAT'S WHAT REALLY COUNTS!

Still alot of entries like this:

11/7/13 2:32:40.000 PM kernel[0]: The USB device Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad (Port 5 of Hub at 0x14000000) may have caused a wake by issuing a remote wakeup (2)

BTW when I was down at my friendly local Apple shop an hour ago, for something else; I checked a couple of 15" rMBP Nov. release, Console tool log entries and none of them had the message above, at all?!  Weird, maybe.....  I was showing one of the Genius' the log entries and inquiring about the problem, also showing him the forum thread, when low and behold the EFI update ready message came across..

No one has had any issues with the 15" so far as I can tell, in fact my brother has the full-fat 15" late 2013 and the thing is straight beasty, go for it mate!
