come on dude, this is an open thread now. problem is solved for now and folks need to know some facts.

there must be hundrets, you can not read every single one.

macbook is new, display is old. simple and important. if you going to see ir or ghosting you will start to cry as well.

so yes, some displays are from 2012 some from early 2013. as we know yet all 13 inch screens are from lg and yes there are lots of problems with ir and ghosting.

so if apple is going to replace it for free you will get another lg again and again and ....

some people say that the 13 inch is a no buy. sounds all right for me. i loved my machine so far and i give it another try cause the 13 inch was sooo sexy.

I said you could delete them, and you can't; I was wrong.  However,  it appears that it will never go above 7 gzipped due to good housekeeping.  So again, not to worry about these, and the space they occupy.  If someone else already pointed this out, sorry to be redundant.

The 13" 8GB, 256GB is a very good buy.  It is a sweetspot from a 'marketing pricing' perspective.  Factor in feature set and display.  Go and configure an Air, that is still non-retina, and you'll see the price point advantage.  Every vendor does this, they price one unit in the line as a loss leader to move that line of products.  They're loosing money on the 13" 8GB, 256GB rMBPs, AND it actually steps on the sales of Air, because of that.  13" Air with 8GB(upgrade), i5 bump to highest available 1.7GHz(overclock 3.3), 256GB, non-retina=$1549.  13" rMBP, 2.4GHz(overclock to 2.9GHz), 8GB, 256GB, good battery(I'm getting a solid 9Hrs.), more ports, did I mention retina = $1500.  So for $50 less you get retina, more ports, and I believe a more sturdy and better machine overall.  AND it only weighs ~.5Lbs more than the Air.  Check it....

After the update, I'm still having issues with freezing after any program uses the Keychain. My MBP Retina 13 inch would freeze and I would have to do a hard shutdown to use it again. Is anyone else having these issues?

    I explained different times:

DDR3 vs DDR3L: they are completely the same but the only difference is the Voltage

    DDR3 works at 1.5V

    DDR3L at 1.35V

iFixit teardown shows DDR3L inside our rMBP...

The MBP freezes. I get the spinning color wheel of death on a couple applications, then all the apps freeze. I can move the mouse and use the keyboard when this happens.

Ok, afraid that it was again the Trackpad/keyboard freezing...

I was using the Microsoft Remote Desktop app, the iTap Mobile RDP app and the Safari. Every time I would need to trust an untrusted certificate, as soon as I click to trust it my rMBP would start to freeze.

Ok, so I installed the EFI Update yesterday, everything was working fine, but I just had my first freeze. Exactly the same issue as before, not even closing the lid for 30 seconds worked this time. I am returning it and buying it again next year. I do not want to keep worrying about this issue anymore. I have followed this thread since day 1 and I read every every single message in all 156 pages.

Hope you do not get the same issue and actually get to enjoy your rMBPs. Cheerz!

Well I'm not returning mine because of the EFI issue, that was at least fixed; so the most basic function works.  Congratulations Apple!  I'm returing mine due to the unstable OS, Networking, and application functions; core functionalities have declined in these products over the past several years, and I'm convinced it's due to hiring practices that have evolved over the past 5-10 years.

My old MBP will become a Fedora19 desktop.

My 14" HP Envy SpeCtre, that I was going to sell, will be restored.

A 2009 MBP 13" will go in the trash, it was a friend's of mines daughter's machine, that her sweet little boyfriend threw at a wall one night, he's gone too.

I'm stuck with at least one of these turd-blossoms, because of iTunes, so the Crap-mini will remain, for now, until I get all that media migrated to Spotify.

Can you give us more details?

For example, how much time did you use it before freezing?

Which app were you using when it freezed?

Was the OS running and only Keyboard/trackpad freezed or also OS?

When did you close lid and reopened the login window appeared?
