A bit long, probably due to the high demand. I ordered mine and got it after like 7-9 days. I have an i7/512GB/16GB and after the EFI update, I have not faced any problems as such. Not even the ghosting problem.

Even this was my first mac. Trust me you won't regret it :-)

I have the exact same configuration and I purchaed mine in first week of Nov. I have not encountered any freezes or slow performance. Weird.

Can you please elaborate on the data drops? How frequent was it? Would it last momentarily or an hour? Did you have to reboot the system to get it to work?

Does your computer feel slow aswell? an example would be doing the mission control gesture on the trackpad and it feels very slow doing it

It would last momentarely but its always happening. The computer program just feels slow. Booting up programs is fine, its very fast doing that. But when ever i scroll through pages or scroll over my dock station or hover my mouse over anything, thats when it becomes very laggy.

This is very weird, do you think that it may be because of my computer itself and not the operating system?

I'm quite certain that this thread is covering a few stability issues associated with Mavericks.

My problem is not a hard freeze, as I still have control of my mouse, but no input events are registered from the keyboard, mouse or power button (sleep).  Something definitely blocks IO, it's just strange the the mouse movement still works.  For those experiencing this problem, I highly recommend running the flash uninstaller from Adobe and see how things go.  So far that appears to have solved my problem.  I'm guessing apple will have a fix for this eventually if it is indeed the problem.

Others that are getting hard lockups should go to the apple store as they will need to check the crash logs.  I had one crash already that was related to the suspend/sleep functionality.  You may be able to disable that in the short term to see if it solves the problem.  Obviously that's not an acceptable long term solution, so it's best to get your crash logs to apple so they can properly diagnose the problem.

I understand the concern from many that they are disappointed that Apple has these types of issues, but to be honest, this is par for the course for apple as far as mac os updates go.  It's usually better to have us early adopters go through this, then upgrade when a few patches have been released.  Once solved, the system is generally far more stable than the windows equivalent.

no sound coming from computer after waking up from sleep mode?  this has happened more than once on top of the previous keyboard/trackpad unresponsiveness (which now the computer is just FREEZING all the time)

i'm getingg really ******. i spent so much money on this and worked my *** off for a month top of college work just so i can get it. =____=

    Hi all!

I have this problem (keyboard and tackpad freezes) and I found this:

MacBook Pro Retina EFI Update v1.3

    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1704

This update is recommended for MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, late 2013) models.

This update addresses an issue where the built-in keyboard and Multi-Touch trackpad may become unresponsive.

BUT this is for 13-inch models, and I have a 15-inch model (and the update is not compatible with my system).

Any idea of what can I do?

    Thanks in advance!

I have change from 13 to 15, but after 7 days usage of my new 15 rmbp, I meet the same problem, how unlucky.

What even worse, when I used 13, I can close the lip and rest for 20 minutes and then it will response. But, for 15 rmbp, this doesn't work. I have to plug in a usb mouse to make the touchpad and keyboard refresh.

Anyone else have the same problem?

Can I use the 13-inch EFI update for 15-inch rmbp?

    Thanks

    Just letting you guys know:

I just had my first crash after the update to fix it.  I'm going to return my 256gb laptop.  Really friggin annoying.

My second machine (13" 8/256) ran 4 days before it froze. The first one froze 6 or 8 times in the first 3 days so I traded it in for a new one. By freeze I mean the cursor won't move and the keys don't work EXCEPT for the power button. Closing the lid for a few minutes sometimes does the trick, not every time. Sadly, I have just backed up nd I will be returning this machine with no intention of getting a new one for some time. Too bad because I really could use this if only it worked. So dissappointing.

My first 13/2.4/256 had the freeze problem and I returned it before the EFI update came out.

Yesterday a new one arrived, same config, but this one has

    a) a 1cm scratch/dent on the top cover out of the box

    b) display/graphics errors (several lines are sometimes stuck in grey color over the entire width of the display)

I am printing the return sticker. Very, very disappointing experience!

No, I think it is because of the OS. I think future updates should fix it.
