Is anyone having a problem with mail as well?  My emails aren't displaying - just a blank page.  The only way I can display them is to hit reply, and they then show in the reply box.  Spent ages on the phone to support and no further forward.

It seems the Bluetooth controller is tied into the USB hub as well, so freezes affect external BT keyboards/mice.

Seeing this message makes me think Bluetooth is tied into USB...

graphical errors - i personally would not bet on software for this one. When I saw this on PCs in the past, it was always the graphic card either dying, or it had simply come out of the slot ...
If I had graphical errors, I would return it for sure. I would not take the risk of this.

My sister as Mavericks in her MBP 2011 and has no problems at all, without doing anything to prevent it. And Mavericks runs smoother on her MBP then on mine rMBP...
Too bad I can't return mine.

My 13" Macbook Pro Retina (October 2013 baseline model) has frozen twice to me today.  I've had it for 4 days and today is the first time I've had issues.  Both times it happened I was downloading software from the mac app store (specifically XCode).  I had Google Chrome, Evernote, Qt Creator, and Mail apps open and I was remoting into servers on my college campus when it happened.  I don't know if the CPU got overtaxed while trying to download and that caused the problem but I'll have to see if it only ever happens when trying to download something.  I'll keep you posted.

    maybe i return now lol

and i do not think it has do do with overheating and cpu. i had freezing with the

google homepage and there were no other things open.

maybe it could be the trackpad setup. sometimes scrolling has issues and maybe the os has problems with all the trackpad options. did the previous os had so many finger options ? i am new to apple os.

I didn't buy it from the Apple Store or iStore. I bought it on FNAC and they have a "no Apple Products refound" policy...It's the same for iPad's and iPhone's. After the box has been open they only send it to repair...

This does not seem to be the issue. Others have reported while browsing, etc.

I have not had issues while downloading, but while browsing on Chrome  and while using iMessage (the cursor disappeared). No downloads.

Patience, folks. Before people start spewing that the sky is falling, all new MacBookPro Retinas have faulty SSDs, Hardware, USBs, Graphics Cards, and everything else...let's be patient.

Is it annoying? Yes. Is it even downright inconvenient and frustrating? Yes.

But is claiming that the computer is crap and broken stupid? Yes. If everyone is reporting it over the past two days, then Apple is becoming aware of it.

I got mine Friday and didn't have issues until Monday night.

Now that I have kept a USB flash drive in, I have had ZERO issues. No errors on Console. And from my previous post on page 38 (I think) Apple is aware, has a screen shot of my Console, and I have talked to three different Senior Advisors who are aware of the issue and have sent info to tech support. I was told that a software update should come at some point and they are scheduled to call me back within the week.

Before posting your thoughts and opinions about what is wrong...

A.) Read through all 42 pages. It will benefit you.

B.) Talk to Apple directly and see what they say. If they tell you to return the MacBook, tell them about this thread and that others have done so to no avail.

C.) Take a deep breath, plug in a USB drive, and be patient.

Well, then I would send it in for repair, if Apple will not come up with a good solution soon.
Let Apple repair it. (Will they actually repair it? I read they are really hard to repair so it might be cheaper for Apple to simply give you a new one after all)
You don't want to send it in?

I didn't try anything (other then format anc clean install), because honestly, in a 1400€ machine I don't feel like I should have too (I´m lazy like that).
And I'm trying to make FNAC give me a gift card or something at least. Cause if I send it to repair it takes 2-4 weeks...
