Q: New Retina Macbook pro 13 Haswell system hang/unresponsive

Hello Everyone.

I have just got my new macbook pro retina 13 Haswell (October Model). This is my second day of usage and i have encountered sudden system freeze for 2 times already. The keyboard and the trackpad stops working including brigtness keys and volume control keys. i have use apple hardware test but no problem are found.

Could anyone tell me what is going on or having the same issue?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Thanks! and nopee i have no external devices connected by usb except a usb flash drive.

The error appears in my console but I'm not experiencing any problems with my keyboard/trackpad?

Everyone has that issue.
Exactly the same - port 5. This tells me that port 5 is where the KB/Trackpad is connected.

I just checked and I have these errors. many times more then once a minute.
Also, my build is 13A2093.

This is what I get in the console:

30/10/2013 00:18:52.000 kernel[0]: The USB device Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad (Port 5 of Hub at 0x14000000) may have caused a wake by issuing a remote wakeup (2)

Can somebody tell me what this means and should I be worried?

Try plugging in a USB thumb drive and see if the messages stop. Your freezes may also stop. The log messages are a mechanism for auditing system operation. The repetitive nature of these messages is suspicious since it would be considered a nuisance if they were generated at that rate under normal circumstances.

Looks like some sort of weird issue that is making the trackpad/keyboard go to sleep and not waking. When people are experincing this issue, are they not using the trackpad/keyboard for quite some time?

@Bobs22, both times it's happened for me was when I was in the middle of using the trackpad.

Except a USB Flash Drive!
What I have heard is that if you have a USB Flash Drive connected, these crashes do not occur.
