No issues at all, yet. Nothing in the log, yet. Working perfectly in every respect.

Huge sympathy for anyone with issues though.

This laptop is the best I've ever owned in 20 years as an I.T. professional.

It has to be worth some patience for an Apple fix ? If the alternative is Windows, you can forget it !

Thanks for sharing this. Highly appreciated.

Hey guys i just contacted apple support 2 times the first time they were new to this problem but the second call the person is aware of this problem and sent me this article http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5296?viewlocale=en_US and she also told me it is definitely software issue and i also got a obvious answer by asking that it wouldnt make a difference if we exchanged it for another one right? and we both agrred since everyone is having the same problem so we just have to check the article regularly and the software update will be out soon

I just called them for the second time as well and they were now aware of the issue (as you said) and said a software update was coming.

Thanks for this good news. So Apple is definitely aware of the problem now...

We just have to wait now (if it's software, I think I won't return my macbook). I haven't freeze since monday, I knock on wood.

Thanks you all for this topic !

Glad they've acknowledged the issue, but I take exception to the use of the word 'rare' when it seems to happen as often as hourly in some cases.  Also the proposed fix of closing the lid does not consistently work either.

Let's hope the fix is released soon!

No, I haven't seen the rainbow wheel of death yet. Actually, I would have enjoyed the first week with my rMBP a lot if the freezes would not have caused so much worries, as well as shame for having to explain to family and friends that I just spend 1.5k on a computer that doesn't really work properly.

I sometimes get the feeling that their customers mean little to Apple. In the Netherlands, they have been violating consumer law for years. When my magsafe adapter set fire last year after just over 3 years of usage, I was told by Apple support that this was due to normal wear and tear and that when electronic components break down this can sometimes involve fire. Their reaction on my question why there was a replacement program with extended warranty for this specific adapter in the US: you don't live in the US...

It's sad that there are no other manufacturers that can deliver a system that is as beautifully designed as an rMBP or Mac Pro, or has such a well designed operating system as OSX (well, except for the bug that's causing this freezing...).

Has anyone had this trackpad/keyboard issue appear under Windows or Linux with their Late 2013 13" rMBP?

Well, it took quite long ... but better late then never.
    Thanks for pointing this out.

I repeat it here, in case someone reads only the newest comments

What would you write, if you were an Apple public relations person? ;-) That's marketing, politics, call it what you want

Same problem here.  I put a USB mouse dongle in the right USB port and it hasn't frozen all day.  I'm glad to hear that they are working on a permanent software fix soon.

hey, just got off with support, I see you beat me to it. They said they are working on an OS patch and no ETA but it will be out. I am relieved, didn't want to make the trip into the city for a swap.
