Quicktime 10.3 and Mavericks - Where did my Export for Web go?

When I installed Mavericks, Quicktime must have been updated as well. There used to be an "Export for Web" feature in Quicktime 10.1 that made it super easy to export and compress videos to be streamlined for web. The updated Quicktime, 10.3, doesn't have that, rather it gives me a whole slew of other options that don't get my video files nearly as small as I need them to be. Any idea how I can 10.1 back on my system and still use Mavericks?

Hello Bethany Jared,

I had the same disappointment. I used to use quicktime to convert videos of my 1-year-old daughter for my parents and relatives, and after the 10.3 update the file sizes are way too big to e-mail.

After some searching I found an alternative program that has worked rather well for me, so far.

Check out Handbrake: http://handbrake.fr

Not as simple as quicktime but offers much more control of converting!

Hope this helps you,

Jamie

This is pretty irritating. I relied on this functionality because it delivered faster, more consistent results than dealing with Compressor for multiple format web-ready conversions.

@jaykatakoma: I tried to find Quicktime Pro in the app store and saw nothing, nor could I find anything in-app that suggested a Pro version exists (nothing greyed out that says PRO like they used to do). What are you basing this claim on?

Can anyone suggest or provide a Compressor preset that would duplicate the functionality that has been lost? What were the specs of the Broadband High format that Export For Web used to spit out?

Cheers.
