Migration Assistant Logs Out

I just got a Macbook Pro, and am trying to use the Migration Assistant to set it up off my iMac. I can get the two to talk to each other, but I can only get as far as choosing the files I want to transfer before one or both of the computers logs out automatically. Then I have to start the entire process over again.
The Macbook is plugged in, both are set to not require passwords on login, both are compeltely up to date with the 10.9 software. I have no idea what else to do here besides throw in the towel and transfer everything manuall via external harddrive...and that's NO fun.

Help please!

I am having the same issue. I have brand new Retina MacBook Pro and I have tried migrating from a MacBook Pro 17" over wireless, directly hard wired and then I used Carbon Copy cloner to make a clone of the MBPro 17" and every time I try to migrate, after the screen shows what is going to be copied, I am logged out of the new MacBook Pro Retina.

Here is the log error from the console:

10/25/13 3:34:40.919 PM Migration Assistant[433]: terminating assistant implicitly - passed the last section without encountering a finishing page

Any help would be great.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I also tried to use a Time Machine backup, but the new Macbook Pro won't see the external drive. I have tried this with a backup done on a drive with a USB cable, which I then attached to the new computer. I have done it with a backup done wirelessly, which I tried to access wirelessly. I think there is a serious problem with the new MacBook Pros recognizing anything from earlier machines.

Ok guys,

set the new computer up with Mavericks, pull the original drive from the old machine, use an external hdd enclosure and plug it in the new machine.

Open the Migration Assistant, check "Migrate from other hdd" and move the files and programs you need to your new machine.

Way faster and more efficient than doing it over Wifi, unless you want to sit there all night . ......
