MobileSync

I have MacBookPro & MiniMac. I use iPhone & iPad. When I connect the devices together, they save back-ups in MobileSync which is ruining my internal hard drive memory. How can I shut it off and delete the present folder of said, please?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
