Hello Joe, all,
Here are instructions that may help you: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5194?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
I've followed these instructions to the letter, but keep getting an error when connecting the the 'clone' Mac one of the supervised ipads I set-up on the original Mac: "Unable to attach device to Apple Configurator."
I looked for the error but keep getting referred back to the above instructions.
Any suggestions would be very welcome, because the initial set-up was done on my private MacBook and I don't want to leave that at the school where the iPads are used...
Are the iDevices and all of the settings coming over from your personal machine to the machine you want to use for configurator?
I've noticed this happen before with iPads when I changed over some laptops as well. Are you able to wipe a device manually and then plug it in to the laptop to re-configure without giving you to much of a hassle?
Thanks for the reply.

I guess you mean whether I would be able to add one of the iPads to the new AC Mac by putting it in Restore mode and supervising it from that Mac? That will probably work. My problem is, that I've done that with the whole batch (60+ as I said earlier) when moving to a dedicated account within my own PowerBook some time ago. That takes an awfull lot of time, because it involves doing manual tweaking per iPad and adding the purchased apps again (in the Netherlands we don't have VPP so that is a manual process).
I would really rather have the settings transfered and continue working on the Mac Mini than starting all over again.
