After Maverick Install, how do I get windows from randomly locking to the upper left of the screen?

This has only began to pop up since installing Mavericks. Seemingly at random, windows (Finder, Safari, etc) will lock their positions to the upper left of the screen. What's worse is that it is always half on the screen and half off. There is no title bar to move the window, but I can still three-finger move it from another area of window. Unfortunately, when I place the window where I want it to be, it immediately snaps back to its original screwed up position.

Any insights?

I'm having the same issue, but it seems to be isolated to when I'm waking up from sleep. Full screen apps have only a small portion of their windows visible, non-full-screen apps have had their windows moved completely off-screen, etc. Only quitting and restarting the app fixes it.

It seems to happen only after putting the machine to sleep (or letting it sleep) from the login screen, or if another user's account is open. Outlook and iTunes affected so far.

I found if you adjust the refresh rate (in display settings) then back again it stopps snapping.

Do you all have an AOC monitor connected by HDMI?

Yes, but only with Outlook 2011 (I think I had it with iTunes once), and only if I have allowed the machine to sleep from the login screen.

This is great news.

This means it's a bug in Mavericks and not my monitor/Mac.

I even did a fresh instal, a seperate un-personalised instal and a M-Lion instal to compare.

It's def only Mavericks and yes, only intermitantly on waking from sleep.

I'm glad you're pleased ;-)

I don't suffer the issue if I quit Outlook before allowing the maching to sleep. Let's hope it gets fixed in the 10.9.1 update.

I'm experiencing the same issue on my Air mid-2011, with or without my secondary screen connected. It mostly happens with Outlook 2011 - but also others (Jabber, Skype) - when resuming from a screen lock or sleep.

In an office environment where I usually lock my screen each time i leave my desk, this is very annoying. I really hope Apple solves this one soon.

If anyone has a work-around until then, please share!
