Oct 25, 2013 4:24 PM in response to ryan2412by Baby Boomer (USofA),You have 14 days to return the computer w/no questions asked. Plus you have 90 days of FREE phone tech support on top of your standard 1 year warranty unless you also purchased AppleCare which gives you an additional 2 years of coverage plus FREE phone support.
Strongly suggest that you take FULL advantage of the above before it runs out. Let Apple deal w/the problems.

Oct 27, 2013 1:47 PM in response to Plompby ryan2412,Returned it under the 14 day return policy. Apple store was out of stock so now have to order from website. However I'm apprehensive if this appears to be more than an isolated incident...

Oct 27, 2013 2:11 PM in response to ryan2412by Plomp,Hmmm, I think it is related to OS X Mavericks and therefore a possible solution might just be days away. I read some stories of people with previous generation MacBook Pros who had the same problems after installing Mavericks. So, if it is software related (which I hope), it will probably appear again on your new MacBook. Let us know.

I haven't seen any new 15" rMBP owners report this problem -- appears to be a new 13" and new iMac problem caused by Mavericks. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear there's anything to do until Apple pushes out a Mavericks update.

Oct 30, 2013 3:54 PM in response to ryan2412by Alicia22T,I have had this brand new macbook pro retina 13" for about 4 days now. Just started freezing today, and the only thing I have downloaded, is Microsoft Office. I was in my Safari, twice, when it completely froze. The only way I could get out of it, both times, was by shutting down the whole computer. This makes me pretty angry seeings how this has only been used a few times. You save up to get a great computer, and it ends up letting you down. Seriously Apple, you make us pay so much money for a "great" product, yet all we are faced with are issues. Please fix this, or a lot of Apple enthusiasts, will start leaving. So disappointed..and everything I own is an Apple product. (This is my first Mac computer)
