My iPhone 5 will not ring

Check to see if the Mute switch is on at the side of the phone. See this illustration

If it is alright, then check to see if Do Not Disturb (DND) is on. If it is, there will be a small crescent moon showing on the status bar near the battery icon.

How do you turn off the DND (do not disturb) feature?

There are a couple of different ways. From Settings>Do Not Disturb, and then turn off Manual and Scheduled. Or, you can go to the bottom of the screen, swipe upwards to activate the Control Center, and then Do Not Disturb is on the top row, and is the icon with the crescent moon. It is a toggle, white id on, black is off.

My DND is off (no moon). My side switch is not red/orange. My volume is up. My life proof case is off. My phone will not ring.
