Wacom tablet drivers are crashing under Mavericks.
Did you check with Wacom to see if they have updated drivers?
I am not sure why you and some others are having trouble with Wacom drivers on Mavericks.
There is three other postings here about issues with Mavericks and Wacom tablets, but seems a small minority of users.
I own a Wacom Intuos 3 and I uninstalled the OLD Wacon tablet drivers and preferences pane and installed the recent drivers and eveything is working fine on my tablet. I use the 9x12 tablet with both the standard pen stylus and airbrush pen and I am not having any issues.
Even when switching pens during drawing, it recognizes when I switch. Everything seems to be working fine.
There must be only a small minority of users having issues and perhaps with different tablet models.
This maybe why Wacom isn't making the issue a priority.
Not enough installed user base having issues on Mavericks.
Have you tried just disconnecting your tablet, uninstall and trash the old drivers, shutdown or restart your Mac, repair disk permissions on startup, install the more recent Wacom drivers, repair disk permissions one more time, then reconnect your Wacom tablet?
I'm using a Intous 2, The newest software doesn't recognize it and which Wacom as stopped supporting with OS updates... which is funny as it still works fine and there is no need to update. Other than software... Love my Wacom but if I do HAVE to update I'll probably get a cheapo brand as I simply can't afford another Wacom.
Keep an eye on eBay for users selling their older tablets.
I got my 9x12 Intuos 3, in great shape BTW, a LOT cheaper than new about a year, ago, or so.
The only drawback was that I had to purchase the standard pen seperate (also on eBay) as it seems most of the Wacom tablets being sold seem to be always missing the neccessary pen. It came with Wacom mouse.
I use the Intuous 3 and find when I use the stylus that every now and then it freezes up the entire computer on Mavericks requiring a hard reboot.
March, still no updated drivers...hey all check you console for Wacom crashes. Over 100 of them now.
been using the old 2.6 drivers with my really old Intuos 2 and Maverick for about 6 month now.. works flawlessly... just use the older drivers.
I had this same error with my install of the 6.3.7-3 driver. I deleted the kext, unplugged the tablet and reinstalled. This time I got no error. Plugged the tablet back in and the System Preference works perfectly.
Seems you must have the tablet unplugged during installation.
Intuous 3 is what I'm using and thank you to Yamasoto for helping fix my problem. It worked but I had to ise the Wacom utility to remove the existing (newer) plugin and then when I was installing the driver the 2nd time I unplugged the wacom tablet and it works.
I still have issues, but nowhere near as bad as with the new driver.
Resizing windows is a problem - I have to hold the mouse on the edge for quite a while until it recognizes the resize feature (apps, firefox tabs, etc...)
Sometimes the mouse triple or quadruple clicks all by it self
When I click drag the mouse sometimes double clicks or the drag selects the whole list of contents in the wondow instead of the one file I want to drag.
"Patience, Grasshopper."
Using Mavericks 10.9.2 by the way...
I HOPE THEY FIX THIS SOON!
I have a Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen and Touch and OS X Mavericks (iMac) and doesn't works either! =(
I need to work with them...
I'm obligated to work with my wacom on my Snow Leopard (Macbook Pro)
Please, update the drivers!
SOON!
Thanks,
Shim.
Hello everyone,
I had a similar problem with my Bamboo Fun, which stopped working when I installed Mavericks.
I have found a compatible driver on the asian wacom support site : http://www.wacom.asia/en/macosx-driver-533-3-106x-109x-0
Cheers
I have the same setup with similar issues after installing Mavericks. For me, the solution was to first completely uninstall all wacom drivers, utilities, preferences etc. You can use a free utility called AppCleaner if it helps. Reinstalled the latest drivers for both the Bamboo and Intuos and now both are working again. Reinstalling the driver over any existing installation seems to cause problems.
The double clicking issue goes away if you turn OFF "Tip Double Click Distance" (it's under Tip feel under the Pen tab) in the Wacom preferences. It's on by default and really annoying.
For others having the problem of the pointer going to the top left, I can say that installing the 6.3 -6.4 drivers did indeed work after restarting. I am running a Bamboo tablet as my main device under Mavericks 10.9.3 on a 27" iMac
I am also experiencing problems. But then, I have a really old tablet. I'm using the Graphire 4X5 which has actually worked really well until just now.
I'm pretty sure I've sued it since I upgraded to Mavericks, but I'm not 100% sure.
It's been acting really strangely, and hard to describe. (it seems to stay in a 'clicked' position... it doesn't let off the functionality even when it's an inch away from the tablet)
I've contacted Wacom support, but I have a job that needs to be done tonight unfortunately. 😟
