ITunes 11.1.2 no longer has a book tab

Just updated to ITunes 11.1.2 and the books tab is no longer there. There is no option in preferences for books only audiobooks. I assume this is related to Mavericks installing IBooks. How do I get my books into Itunes to sync them with my Ipad

G5, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

App, book, and tone management features have been removed from iTunes 12.7. See Changes in the new iTunes - Apple Support for details. For what remains see the Manually add items from your computer section of Manually manage content on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iTunes - Apple Support. This can be used to copy apps, books, and tones from your computer to your device. The File Sharing feature for copying data between apps and the computer is still there.

What about when you have a library in iBooks consisting of hundreds of books, and yet iTunes *still* has no "books" section?

I have a section in the "On My Device" that says "Books" but nothing in the "Settings" for books.

If it's easier to get these things on my kindle, I'll just use that. You'd think that Apple would have some semblance of a clue how to make this work in a simple manner. Steve would be so disappointed in the garbage that Apple is producing these days. Shame.

1.open Itunes

2.connect your device

3.open up Ibooks on the device (or books) you should see a list of books you have allready if any

4. Go to the folder on your computer that has epub or pdf files or what have you

5.drag and drop the file into Itunes and it will load to your device

Thank you Apple for taking something so simple and making it difficult for people. If it wasn't for the mindless sheep in the world dumping huge amounts of cash for your substandard products you would have died out ages ago.

Jim,

How to you side load/drag and drop books now? I can get them into the iBook App but they will no longer sync with the iPad or iPhone. Was on the phone with Apple Support the other night with no luck. I actually deleted the app and iTunes book tab now appears in iTunes again.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated I thinks I may use Marvin for my epubs.

Jim,

Thanks, but unless I am not understanding the document, I think it only pertains to books bought from the iBook store. Most of my epubs come from other sources. What it I buy a book from a store like Smashwords? The Apple Care Specialist couldn't get my sideloaded books to sync from device to device. We even restored a prior backup of my iTunes from my external hard drive.

I appreciate any help.
