iPhoto in Repair - Spinning wheel forever

Hello,

I have an iphoto library of about 189 Go and at one point went to install Aperture. They then share the same library.

I do not know what happened at one point but all was OK, I could open iPhoto or Aperture with the same library and then one day, I could not open the library anymore.

Using iPhoto, the symptoms are a spinning wheel that doesn't seems to stop so the app does not really start showing photos.

I am using the process of Option/CMD right now to do a repair of the library but it seems again that taking the first option to repair permissions is taking a lot of time (Spining wheel) and I do not see this process finishing...

It this normal that the repair would take hours/days to complete on a 189Go library?

Any advise on how to solve this problem?

Thank you.
