GarageBand won't quit

I recently installed & upgraded GarageBand on Mac OS 10.9 to the new Mavericks version. After starting it up it won't let me quit the app, I have to force quit the application. Is this normal or is there something wrong with it.

Mac mini, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
