I am having the same issue as many folks on here - Garageband app crashes if you try to play or record anything.😠

So far it have been the late 2007 iMacs and MBPs and Mid 2011 MBPs that are crashing - I assume, you meant to post in this thread: GarageBand 10.0 crashes
My Mid 2011 MBP does the same, the late 2011 model is fine. All crashes in the thead com.apple.audio.IOThread.client, in Apple's own audio software.

Have you any third party audio drivers installed, for audio interfaces you are using, or third party audio units for effects and instruments?

I have a few 3rd party AUs - I seem to recall (retrospectively) that the last Garageband update did the same, but fortunately I had an old backup of a hard disk that had Garageband V6 on it, so switched back to that. I hope I still have that - I can certainly use it for now.
