mail not sending with mavericks

I'm having the same problem. The email message vanishes and it's not in the sent folder. My work computer and iCloud.com have no problem sending messages. I'll try the troubleshooting guide.

The troubleshooting guide didn't work for me. The only new thing I tried was the "Rebuild" command. Everything else checked out.

Mail Server Information

Thanks, Eric. Unfortunately that didn't help. My work computer and my home computer (that has the problem) both show "iCloud" under outgoing mail server. They also each show "p03-imap.mail.me.com" for the incoming mail server.

I think we have to hold tight until there's an update.

I also have thi problem and it is very annoying.

An AppleCare specialist helped me resolve this.

In ~/Library/Mail/V2 is a folder called "Mailboxes."

With Mail quit, I moved the contents of "Mailboxes" to the desktop.

Then it worked again.

I just had to reimport all the mailboxes back into Mail. This took ~10-20min for 13 years worth of emails separated by year and with an "inbox" and "outbox" for each year.

Please let me know if that works for you.

Mild description - 'disappointed' with Mail not 'sending' - dual use Mail and Outlook 2011 is not sensible with 30-40 emails per day

Rest of Mavericks - very good.

Above actions restored SEND function for all four accounts including Exchange and Gmail - very happy.

Now the question => firstly WHY and secondly WHY has it not been fixed in an UPDATE.
