Getting "secure link to ITunes Store faied.??

When I run diagnostics, as I'm unable to connect to the Ipod software update, I'm getting green on the Internet and Networ connection but I get a red light for
"Secure linkt to ITunes Store failed". Any ideas on how to fix problem? I'm unable to update to latest versions ever since.
