slide to unlock the iPod does't work

My sons iPod toutch is not responding to the "slide to unlock". the slide to unlock botten does not move when I slide it.

When I connect the iPod to my Mac, everything seems to work. I can see and play all the music, see all the apps and podcasts.

When I turn off the power, it seems to react just fine and it shuts down. When I start it back up, it seems to work just fine. The only thing it doesn't do, is respond to my sliding action to unlock the device.

Can someone please help me ?!?

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
