Newest model of Macbook Pro (Haswell) occasionally freezing up completely?

I just purchased the latest model Macbook Pro Retina, and it froze up 4-5 times within the first day of use. That is, no keyboard/trackpad input works at all, but videos, music, or anything else already running does not stop running, so it's likely not an SSD issue (I think). The thing is, I already got a replacement exchange from Apple; my SECOND MBPr in the last 3 days has the SAME EXACT PROBLEM. The chances of this being a hardware issue have got to be miniscule. Is there something going on with Mavericks? I'm a first time Mac user, and I've got to say, I never had this sort of issue with a brand new windows PC.

I've already returned my first MBPr. This issue showed up on my second one as well. I still have 13 days left in the two week window to return/exchange, do you think it's worth it to hang on to it for some time, to see if there's an OS update or something? The discussion forums seem to show that some other people are having this issue, but I haven't seen anything about the new Haswell pros having it as well.

I have the same issue some times the keyboard and trackpad freeze. I think this is not a hardware issue because of all the many who have this same problem. I guess we need to wait for an update to fix this problem.

What is do now is i put the macbook in sleep by pressing the powerbutton once. Then close the lid and open it again and the keyboard and trackpad work again.

I'm having the same issue with a MBPr 13" 8GB. I'm planning on returning the MBPr before the 14 day window is up and talking to someone about it.

Also, I was under the impression that the haswell chip would cause the machines to run much cooler when on my lap. I find that the haswell runs just as hot as my fiance's 2011 MBA. Anyone else noticed this?

Why returning when there is just a little bug? There is always in new things something to improve. I am very sure apple will come up with a upgrade for this issue or in worst case have a callback on all machines. But I think it is just a little software kind of bug seen the amount of people out of the internet experience the same problem.

And no sorry mine is much cooler then my previouse one but that is beside this topic.

I just got my Macbook Pro 13 with Haswell today and I am also experiencing the freezing issue I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. It would be terribly expensive investment to have this problem. However I do understand it is a new OS but I only have 14 days to return it if there are more of these issues I hope Apple does the right thing and acknoweldges it and fixes it.
