Why is my Netflix tinted pink now?

Bought a 5s with an apple HDMI cable- when streaming netflix to my tv, the screen is pink tinged. Everything turned pinkish with a 4s phone/cable too; the same cable with the 4 phone showed in normal colors so it wasn't a loose connection/cable issue. Every answer I can find says the cable is faulty but how can the old one be faulty with a 4s and not a 4. Suggestions?
