I am having a real bad time, need to know why my account will not accept th changes I've made

Your Apple ID must be a valid email address. If you change email addresses, you must use the old info to access your account and change the email information. If you don't change accounts properly, your old purchases will not be available to you as they are tied to the Apple ID you used to download them.
