I just downloaded an audiobook from the iTunes Store. It is nowhere to be found on my iPad, and the iTunes Store tells me it has downloaded. Where could it be? It is not in music, more, audiobooks. There is no audiobooks under "more"??

In iTunes click on your device (Devices section)

select "Books"

enable "Sync Audiobooks"

Sync your device.

On your device go to the Audio app and go to the "... More" tab.

You will find the Audiobooks entry there.

Look under genre-spoken word.

iTunes is on the computer.....

On the top menu bar click on iTunes. Select Preferences from pull down menu. Click on General tab.

This shows a list of what is shown in iTunes. Make sure the box is checked for Audiobooks.

If you look at the left side of the iTunes screen, it should list in your Library:

Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, iTunes U, Audiobooks, Books, Apps

Hi, no that doesn't fix this issue for me. There is no audiobook box to check merely books, which is checked.

Itunes doesn't display the audiobook option in the library but if I go to the store iTunes confirms the purchase and download.

I have exactly the same problem, I had two books downloaded listened to them and then deleted to save space; downloaded another two which iTunes says are downloaded but can't find them anywhere... Audiobooks completely gone from music tab. Please help!!!

Same here - sync to iTunes on my Mac shows the audiobooks I downloaded. I can even clear them from the ipad and resync - but they will not show up in iTunes on the iPad. Even created a playlist for the audiobook files on my Mac, and tried to sync that - it doesn't show up on the iPad.

And it even gets worse: I *can* sync old audiobooks purchased pre-iOS7, they will show up. But the ones purchased post-iOS7 don't, no matter what I do.

I think we have a genuine bug people. Apple needs to fix this.

I am having this same issue. I just purchased and downloaded two audiobooks from the iTunes Store on my iPad. These audiobooks do not show up in Music...More. I was hoping they would show up in the Audiobooks app under My Library...but no. Has anyone received a fix to this issue?

BTW...the responses above suggesting that we need to sync Audiobooks in iTunes on a computer is a bit odd. Some folks only have iPads...no computers. The process of purchasing and listening to audiobooks on an iPad should work using the iPad as a stand alone device.

I've had no fix but I have had confirmation that this is a real bug. All very embarressing for Apple, you use thier site on thier product and it doesn't give you access to the product you have paid for, and no I have not had my money refunded.

I had same problem - have just tried this and it seems to have worked:

Go to iTunes

Select your Apple ID

Select Sign Out

Restart your iPad

Go back to iTunes

Sign in using your Apple ID and Password

After that, your new purchases should show up in the Audiobooks section of music.

I am having this problem also. FYI you CAN play the downloaded audiobooks without using the above method, simply by searching for the audiobook in the OS search (swipe down from the home screen, and search for the audiobook title or author). It doesn't make it appear in the audiobooks section, or system usage section however!

I've been having this issue for months and always was able to access the purchased audiobook through a spotlight search, but it still annoyed me that they weren't showing up in the music app under audiobooks. I've had multiple discussions with iTunes tech support. They had me do many things but never what you suggested - and guess what?! Your processed worked! Awesome job figuring it out. A million thanks!
