I delete the emails in my Apple Mail for an IMAP Gmail account, but the email keep reappearing as undeleted.

I have the same problem. It's ticking me off big time. I tried googling it over and over but nothing.
I've also recently had the same problem with Gmail emails
I forced Mail closed and then reopened it and the problem dissappearerd.
so do you continue to force mail closed every time? Doesn't seem like this should be the answer.
As I remember, there's a setting on Gmail's Settings/Forwarding and POP/IMAP page that deals with how IMAP deletes stuff. It might be helpful. Bear in mind that GMail has a less than standard IMAP system.

Just switched to IMAP from POP and this was really bugging me😠.
Force closing Mail worked for me too.
This is not a Go Daddy or a G-Mail issue. I have a Time Warner e-mail account and am experiencing the same problem.
I also have this problem. Forcing quit has not helped.
That doesn't help. I went through and deleted the gorram spam again, and it returned, again. And again. And again. I can't find my important emails.
