My home button on my Ipod Touch 4th generation does not work anymore. I can't even depress it. It is like it is not even there anymore. Can this be fixed?

Go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn on Assistive Touch. That will put a little icon on your screen that, when touched, will provide you with a window that has a Home Screen button right on the screen.
