MP4s play fine in Windows Media Player but iTunes only plays video, not audio

Hi all,

I've searched all over but can't find anyone with this same issue. I use my Apple TV (MP199LL/A) to play MP4 movie files. They're encoded using Handbrake by selecting the "Apple TV" default settings. Some of the files play great, while others only show me the video but no audio. But those files play great in Windows Media Player, both the video and the audio. I don't know why they would play in WMP but not in my iTunes or ATV.

Here are the video/audio settings for a sample file that will play both audio and video in WMP but only video in iTunes:

Video:

- acv1 codec

- H.264/MPEG-4 AVC

Audio:

- Codec: mp4a: MPEG-2 AAC LC

Here are settings for a video that plays well in both WMP and iTunes:

Video:

- acv1 codec

- H.264/MPEG-4 AVC

Audio

- Codec: mp4a: MPEG-4 AAC LC

As far as I can tell, the only difference is that the audio codec of the file that won't play audio in iTunes is MPEG-2. What gives?

Thanks!

AppleTV 2, Windows 7
