Recently, while watching a movie or a series on Netflix, the video will suddenly go back to the beginning of what I'm watching and the audio will keep going. This did not used to happen. I would watch endless hours of stuff and it would work perfectly. Now, after 5 minutes or so, it will repeat this constantly.

 

The first couple of times, I would just fast-forward to where it cut off and the rest would play normally. So I thought it was something minor. Now, I can't go throught a whole episode without it happenning every couple of minutes. I ended up giving up and watching it throught airplay from the browser.

 

I downloaded the latest update, hoping it might help but nothing happened. Anyone know what's going on?

    I thought of this after I posted, and will definetely try it. But what could be the problem? An issue from a recent update? Does this mean I shouldn't update the Apple TV anymore either?

    Problems happen... there is no reason to not update the ATV.

    Ok. So I went to Reset and Restored my Apple TV to factory settings, and it went on and downloaded the latest update by itself. After that I logged in with my account and the same problem persisted.

     

    I still can't watch 5 minutes without the episode or movie video rewinding to the start as the audio continues on.

     

    Any suggestions?

    Today I experienced the same problem viewing netflix through my iphone using airplay on my Apple TV. Every couple of minutes the glitch happened. This is very disappointing and frustrating.

    I tried getting in touch with Netflix, but I had no answer. This is really bothering me, since Netflix is one of the main reasons I got an Apple TV, other than using airplay of course.

     

    Does anyone know how to solve this? Can this be a hardware issue?

    I'm having the same problem with my Apple tv 3rd gen.

    I've already tried every kind of restore/reset available. I've even restored my apple tv by connecting it to my Mac and restoring it with iTunes but nothing fixed my issue.

    After this problem started one day it never stopped and it always happens several times during every movie playback.

     

    Does anyone did something that worked to fix it?

    I have the exactly same issue with my Apple TV! I've tried reset many times, no success. Anyone has solve this problem?

    Obviously neither Apple or Netflix has any interest actually solving this issue. Since we can see all these replies and nothing is being done to resolve it. I find it ridiculous having resort to using airplay on my iPad or iPhone (which app decides to work at time) so I can watch the content on my TV. Besides AirPlay, Netflix is one of the main reasons I chose to buy my AppleTV. But with this kind of problem, my satisfaction level has dropped exponentially.

    Same problem here.

     

    Netflix works like a charm on iPad, browser, etc.

     

    On Apple TV video restarts every 5 mins, while audio continues.

     

    Have tries resetting, restoring, updating, disabling screen saver - all to no avail.

    Absolutely ridiculous.  I now have what I consider a useless black brick on my tv rack, since all I watch is netflix.  Only way to watch Netflix on my TV is to stream it via my MacBook Air through Airplay.

     

    Try harder Apple!!

    Same problem here.

    For me, without Netflix, Apple TV is useless.
