Q: Map bookmarks in Mavericks will not sync to iOS devices

I've noticed that if a save a maps bookmark in OS X Mavericks (desktop or laptop), that bookmark will NOT sync to my iOS devices via iCloud.  But, if I create a maps bookmark on either my iPad or iPhone, the bookmarks sync to all iOS devices and to my Mac desktop and laptop.  Has anyone else noticed this anamoly?  This is a bug.

Mac Pro (Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

I encountered the same problem and was looking for a solution here. Syncing between iDevices I haven't tested.

When I create a bookmark on my iPhone, it syncs to my Macbook and iMac pretty fast. When I create a bookmark on both of my Macs, nothing syncs to my iPhone. Same problem as you i guess!

There's definitly something wrong I guess.  Hope we'll come to a solution soon.

It needs to be reported to Apple officially.  I spent about an hour with Apple on-line chat and was transfered to a phone call and they could not resolve the issue.  They said that it had not been reported previously so it needs to get logged in as an official bug.  They had me try signing out of iCloud and signing back in but it didn't help anything.  The phone call went worse.  I tried using a different user account and saved a map bookmark, but that didn't work either.  I guess I'll have to reconnect and get the proper email address to get this reported.

I noticed I can sync bookmarks back and forth as long as I don't try to put already existing contacts in my bookmark list.

Create a new pin on your map and bookmark it. You'll notice it will sync. In my case that is :-) As soon as you select someone from your contactlist, a pin will be created but as soon as you bookmark it that bookmark will not sync to your idevice.

Let me know how it works!

EDIT: I was thinking. It makes no sense to bookmark already existing contacts. I think that's the reason they won't even sync either.

I believe you are having the same problem I was. Took me a bit to realize it was because I was searching for directions instead of a waypoint. So when hit bookmark it just kept using my "current location" as the bookmark and not the place I was going to. To fix I just had to stop using direction, find the particular place I was looking for and create the bookmark. It then synced just fine from Mac to Iphone. Hope this helps.

Onderkoffer - You have solved the problem!  I was indeed trying to book mark existing contacts and it never occurred to me, but iCloud sees those as duplicates and was not adding them.  I just tried adding three separate bookmark locations not found in my contacts and viola! - they all show up perfectly on my iOS devices.  Thanks for the tip.  I was certain it was a bug in Mavericks but it seems it's all working good.

Since upgrading from IOS 7 to IOS 9 Apple Maps no longer syncs bookmarks/favorites to my OS X Mavericks machine, no matter what I do.

I do not want to upgrade to OS X El Capitan. But even if I did so there is no guarantee that this feature will work again.

So my simple and effective solution is to abandon Apple Maps to return to Google Maps where saved locations are synced without any issues.

It is frustrating that in frequent upgrade cycles Apple breaks features that used to work. I wish Apple would show some more consideration to its user base.
