how to open page 09 in mavericks?
MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Pages '09 works in OS X Mavericks, so open the Mac App Store, go to Updates tab and download the most recent version. Apple released an update for Pages that make it completely compatible with OS X Mavericks, although any Pages '09 version should work correctly

in the app store i can only update to the newest version of pages.
That's what you have to do. If you are using Pages '09, note that the old Pages version will be kept.
If you don't want to install the newest Pages version, you can reinstall Pages if you purchased iWork in a DVD. If you purchased Pages in the Mac App Store, updating Pages is the only option
i have already update to the newest pages, but it is crap.
i have the pages09 saved in the hard drive before i upgraded, and now just pulled it out into the mavericks, but it doesnt work.
how can i make this pages09 work in mavericks.
Did you install it from the iWork DVD or from the Mac App Store?
If you installed it from the iWork DVD, insert it and reinstall Pages.
If you installed it from the Mac App Store, you can try restoring an old Pages copy from a backup, if you have got one. If not, you have to use the new Pages
i downloaded pages09 trial version i think and entered a purchased key-code for it.
yea i saved them as back-up in a hard drive, but it doesnt work with the mavericks now.. :/
Download iWork 9.3 from the Apple website > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1563 Then, install it. Remove the new Pages version if you want
iWork '09 does work with Mavericks but it sounds like your program was damaged. Reinstall iWork '09 and you should be good to go. If you cannot find your installer call AppleCare and you'll be given a URL to redownload it.
i have reinstalled it and still doesnt work..
You've to update to 9.3 first, before you can open it See link above.
Did you also do the update Mende1 told you to? You need to update the old Pages to version 4.5 (iWork 9.3)
yes i did, and i am only update it to pages 4.3
now i no longer get that notification about i cant open it, instead, i can run pages which has the icon shown in the dock, but nothing is actually on the screen, i cannot open the template thing, neither i can create a new document. the only thing works is pages icon shown in the dock and the top tool bar
Sorry, it was a typo. The lates Pages 09 is 4.3.
Did you ever look in your Application folder for iWork 09? You said something like you "pulled it out to Mavericks" What does that mean? That you found it and started it?
before i upgraded to mavericks, i backed up all my files in a hard drive mannually. when i upgraded, i erased everything on my disk. i have the installer for the iwork 09 (trial version), i reinstalled it, upgraded it. thats what i did now.
i said i pulled it out, means i copy and pasted the iwork09 applications from my hard drive into the new system.
This was probably stated at some point, but I had the same problem while trying to open any iWork '09 products (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) in Mavericks. I also had the 5.X versions installed, but could not open older files in the newest version of iWork, until I installed the iWork '09 update from here: iWork 9.3
Hope that helps.
