FaceTime with Mavericks

I just upgraded to Mavericks from ML 10.8.5 and my FaceTime will not let me signin. I keep getting the error message "check network connection." So far this is the only problem I'm running into. All of my other network activities are not affected. I'm using a MacBook Pro 13" i7 8G Ram from mid2012

None of the generic assistance pages work on this issue.

Ever since I went from 10.8 to 10.9 I CAN NEVER LOG IN TO FACETIME. MESSAGES WORKS FINE.

Yet facetime worked forever since it came out for me on my mac mini 2011.

I have looked in the console and see errors such as this:

12/16/13 10:18:50.918 PM identityservicesd[285]: [Warning] ***** Could not find an account with unique ID {id hidden}

It is some long hash number.... I am not sure what it is referring to as my Apple Id has been the same like forever.

12/16/13 10:17:50.916 PM FaceTime[429]: [Warning] Can't register a new account while we already have an account

This one is funny as I am logging in, NOT creating a new account.....

and then sometimes I get the error in red letters like JJONES mentioned.

Thank God for Skype, but I wonder if this has to do with messages integration... Apple messed up facebook video chat in a big way and I WANT IT BACK 😟

Anyone have any insight? Do I need to call apple and use some applecare love on this?

I reset my id in system prefs... I checked my hosts file... my time is set to automatic.... kind of lost here.
