Pages keeps crashing after new update, Pages keeps crashing after new update

I've recently updated my pages app. Ever this then it has practically been un usable. It constantly crashes, and is really slow once it finally opens. Or if I type some text, half way through the app will stop working and lose everything I have just written. It's very frustrating as I use the app all day for work. This then means I have to ask for the details again, which is embarrassing.

I don't understand the point if bringing out an update that clearly doesn't work or benefit the users.

Please fix this as soon as possible apple. There have been multiple complains and still nothing has been resolved.

Yours Faithfully

Since I updated pages my ipad and iPhone. It's is unbearably slow and crashes all the time. I go to use it and it takes ages to think about it. Then I will use it for a while. It will Crash or take absolutely ages to do what I'm asking it. I'm having to do everything in my notes page and then transfer it at a later date because I can't trust it to do things straight away. What should take 2 minutes now takes 10. Also when I highlight light something to either copy, delete etc.. It takes ages. I highlight something, it freezes, then un-lights. So I do it again and have to repeat the process at least 3-4 times before it finally works it out. Also if u want to copy something from another document and you go away from pages and then come back I have to wait at lease 30 secs to a minute before I can work on the document again. So if I have to cut and paste lots of thing the whole process is very frustrating .

Also if I work on a document and then have to go to something else, upon my return. I will have to wait 20-30 seconds before I can start tying again. And sometimes it crashes or opens a document filled with white and black squares and then crashes. And if I shut it all down to re open it. It will still be in the same state so I have to wait for a further minute.

I know it is this is the app as everything else works fine. I've un installed it and installed it twice and nothing have improved.

Please help to rectify this problem Apple.

Same problem here - also use it for work. I'm having another issue too - I open a new document when I'm in the office to enter client details, take my ipad on a site visit where i am not connected to the net, open Pages to access the document I created and it opens for a few seconds before giving me the message "This document was deleted from another location" and it disappears! Frustration abounds.

Same problem here, Pages, Numbers and Keynote crash upon start when iCloud is enabled on my iPad mini after the update to iOS 7. I moved all documents to local storage on a Mac to start from scratch and the problem persists. This is unacceptable since it impairs usage of iPads and iWork for business applications. Apple, please prioritize it solution of this serious software fault.

About 5pm today mountain time this iWorks/iCloud sync was solved for me. Maybe Apple fixed it. However, their senior engineers had not solved it by 3pm. I am using Mavericks and iOS 7. Deleting/installing the iWorks apps on my iOS devices did not solve the problem. What may have solved the problem was:

(1) quit the iWorks apps on my Mac and turn off iCloud syncing for the iWorks apps on my iOS devices

(2) copy/move the Pages/Numbers/Keynotes folders from the Mobile Documents Folder (MDF) on my Mac to the Desktop

(3) restart the iWorks apps on my Mac when no iWorks Folders were left in the MDF

(4) restarting the iWorks apps on my Mac created new empty iWorks Folders in the MDF

(5) copy the iWorks files from the Desktop back to their corresponding folders in the MDF

(6) restart iCloud syncing for the iWorks apps on my iOS devices

(7) the iCloud documents started appearing again on my iOS devices

My thought was that these iWorks Folders were corrupted in the MDF and must be backed up to my Mac and deleted from the MDF. Anyway, the problem seems fixed.

Since the latest updates, Pages and Numbers started working fine with iCloud/document sharing switched on. Still had problems with Keynote however.

I tried removing everything from the Mobile Documents folder but still had same problem of Keynote crashing. It did get me thinking though.

I removed ALL old Keynote '09 presententions from my iCloud and left new presentations or convereted ones only.

This did the trick so I have gradually converted all old '09 presentations to new Keynote (which has also meant some reworking of the presentations) and Keynote now works fine from all of my IOS devices with document sharing through iCloud switched on.

I hope this helps and works for some others if not everyone as it has been a real pain for me and my work.

Well, amsg's trick solved it (see above). Pages iOS is no longer crashing and it is running much more smoothly. Apple really needs to fix this as this takes a little bit of "know how" to fix on ones own and I'm certain there is a large group of people out there who can't do it on their own and now cannot use their Pages App. Thanks amsg.

Solved my issue...

I had almost 100 Keynotes in iCloud, some of which were created with iWork 08.

I used my Macbook to move all of the Keynotes to the desktop and then deleted all of the files in iCloud so that iCloud was empty.

I then reinstalled Keynote on my iPad (deleted and then re-downloaded)

The updated Keynote opened with no problem.

I then uploaded only a few recent Keynote files. No problems. Keynote on the iPad is now running smoothly.

I'm guessing the crashing has something to do with older Keynote files hanging up the new Keynote and iCloud.

1. So the suggestion would be to remove all of your Keynote files and save them locally.

2. Re-install Keynote on the iPad.
