Oct 29, 2013 1:55 AM in response to Arkan_Swe_Utopiaby Ckovacs,I have the same issue since updating to Mavericks. It most often seems to occur after the computer has been asleep, but also occurs without warning while using the computer. Restarting corrects the graphic problem for a time.

Oct 29, 2013 2:12 AM in response to Ckovacsby Taverner,Exactly the same here on my MacPro 5,1. I have a dual screen setup and the second display flickers from time to time. A reboot cures it until the next time the machine goes to sleep, then it's back again. No problems before the Mavericks update.

Oct 29, 2013 5:33 AM in response to Arkan_Swe_Utopiaby macjack,Seeing more and more these, I'm suspicious that it is some impompatibility with your graphics card and Mavericks.
Do you have a backup of 10.8 you can boot into to test? Or an empty disk or volume where you can install the orginal OS that shipped with your Mac?

Oct 29, 2013 3:16 PM in response to Arkan_Swe_Utopiaby ThreeD912,Doesn't look like you're the only one having this problem:

Hopefully Apple figures out what's wrong and fixes it in 10.9.1 or something.

Oct 30, 2013 3:17 AM in response to macjackby Taverner,First of all, my issue with the Mac Pro looks totally different than the screenshots posted here. It was more of a flickering effect, where parts of the screen have been drawn a second time at the lower part of my ACD 23" and reappeared for a split second, as soon as I did something with my mouse. It was not steady, but started when you used the computer. Therefore it looks indeed like a graphic card issue.
Second, I did something since I posted my issue above and it seems to have fixed it so far. I wanted to wait a little to be sure about that. I switched the display port connectors around. Before my NEC PA241W was hooked up in port 1 using a display port adapter and my ACD 23" was in the port 2 with the normal ACD connector. I switched both around, just to see if the effect would come up on the PA241W as well. It didn't.
So far so good but strange anyway. Something clearly must be wrong with certain graphic card setups in Mavericks, no doubt about that. My machine was running silky smooth for years with several OS X versions.

Oct 30, 2013 3:41 AM in response to Arkan_Swe_Utopiaby christopherfromdeu,Facing similar problems (https://discussions.apple.com/message/23593051#23593051). I had no such difficulities prior to my Mavericks install, so I guess it has something to do with incompatabilities with the graphics card. I hope they will come up with a quick solution, working on your MBP with these display glitches is not possible.

Oct 30, 2013 4:19 AM in response to Arkan_Swe_Utopiaby Tunnezza,I experience graphic slowliness with my late 2009 MacBook (Nvidia 9400m), while everything is ok even with Mountain Lion 10.8.5. No glitches or artifacts, but GL screensavers, Mission Control and Full Screen transitions are laggy and no fluid at all. Since I performed a Mavericks clean install, I suppose there's a bug on this OS to be addressed.

Oct 30, 2013 9:33 PM in response to Tunnezzaby Scorch07,I've also been noticing some issues on my mid 2010 15". They always seem to occur when the computer is on integrated graphics, but I have seen plenty of people post with the reverse scenario. That said, I can usually fix it by forcing it to discreet and then back with gfxCardStatus. That said, I really hope this is fixed in 10.9.1.

Oct 30, 2013 11:46 PM in response to Scorch07by Tunnezza,My point is that I performed some GL Benchmark, and it turns out that ML gives me around 260 fps, while Mavericks no more than 205 fps. Then I had no choice but to go back to ML; after that, I've performed a Mavericks clean install on an external USB drive (noticing of course all of the above) as a test, hoping that future updates will solve the situation (in that case I will upgrade again my Mountain Lion main install).

Nov 1, 2013 3:19 AM in response to Scorch07by Cerebro,I have a 2010 MacBook Pro. I just woke it from sleep and saw the exact same thing that Lpavs posted in her screenshot...that weird shadowing off to the sides of open windows (I also noticed some glitchyness in some of my Dashboard widgets). I followed Scorch07's suggestion and toggled between graphics cards using gfxCardStatus (integrated to discrete) and the issue, immediately, went away. It still begs the question of why it happened in the first place. I've been running Mavericks for almost a week, now, and this is the first time any graphics issues have presented themselves.
