Can not change shape to a photo when try to put it as a screen saver...

Why I can not change or put the right size of a photo that I choose from an album at the screen saver as the older software(iOS 7)did???...when I put a photo from the album as a screen saver the shape and the pixels of the photo looks really bad...what can I do?
