Nest thermostat - Airport Extreme

I recently purchased a nest thermostat and can get it to recognize and connect to my wifi network via Aiport Extreme (5th generation/latest firmware).

When I try to generate a code from the Nest itself to sync and control my nest from my iphone, I get an error: Entry key error: Initializing, try again.

Has anyone else had difficulty getting the code from nest servers using an aiport extreme.

I have called Nest tech support and they had me try many, many different things and have no idea why I cannot connect and generate a key/code.

Also, I am able to ping the nest IP from my macbook successfully.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your reply. I did have it fixed. Nothing to do with the air port extreme or my settings. I called Nest technical support and they must have done something on their end because it worked shortly after talking with them.

Yes, I had previously tried reseting the thermostat with no luck.

Thanks again for your reply.

I tried all available airport versions but ended up keeping at the most recent as none of them seemed to work. My software version is 4.0 on the Nest. I saw you also posted a question on the Nest forums which is a good place to get the answers you need.

Also, the 4.0.1 update may be what you require. Make sure to check your software version.
