MY iTunes will only play the first 30 seconds of a song

Hey, I just downloaded an album, but one of the songs will only play the first 30 or so seconds of the song then it skips to the next song. My Mac is completely updated, I just downloaded Mavericks. Does anyone know how to fix this?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.

Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".

Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

I fixed mine. I recently added two new CD's to my iTunes library. When I went to listen to my new CD's, they only played the songs for 30 seconds then stopped. I tried other songs and the effect was the same for all of them. This may not work for all of you, but I uninstalled iTunes, moved all of my C:\Program Files\iTunes\Media\Music to another drive. I moved them from my SSD drive to an older IDE disc drive in its H:\Users\Admin\Music folder. This also cleaned up a lot of space on my bootable SSD drive which was a great thing to have done. I then uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it on my IDE Disc drive. I also moved all of my Amazon.com music to the IDE Disc drive. Next I deleted the SSD drives iTunes folder to complete the clean up. I then used itunes to add the folder H:\Users\Admin\Music folder to the iTunes library. I suppose you could make any new folder and put the music files there then add that folder to the iTunes Library. It worked perfectly and now all of my music is in one place and working perfectly. I suppose there was some file(s) that needed to be deleted and recreated in my original SSD Drive iTunes folder, but I have no idea which ones they were. Uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it did not work. I suppose that deleting all itunes files except for your music folder and then reinstalling iTunes might also work. I highly recommend copying the iTunes folder to a new backup folder before trying these other ideas before you try them. I am an experienced programer with a super PC that has 7 drives in it. I am so happy that I got iTunes working again! It was very frustrating there for a while.
