I have just changed ISP and I'm using Mail 7.0 under Mavericks to set up my e-mail accounts with them.

My ISP helpdesk says that I don't need SMPT authentication on the account unless I want the bother of adding my password every time I post a mail message. However, the SMPT options under Mail 7.0 don't seem to include "no authentication". As I recall, earlier versions included a box you could check if you wanted authentication. You were then asked what sort of authentication.

Is this a change, and is there a way still to create an email account with an SMPT server with no authentication?
