QuickTime died after ProApps QT Codecs update to 1.03. Help

Just installed ProApps Quicktime Codec updates to 1.03. Now Final Cut Pro and Quicktime won't play any video. The screens are blank. What gives??? Can this update be reversed? We are on Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Is there a migration upward solution? Frustrated.

Thank you.

Has anyone done the 1.0.4 update from this weekend? I let it install on a working Snow Leopard startup disk and it did not break it. Curious to see what other users report. 1.0.4 was supposed to fox the issue that occurred with 1.0.3... Please let me know. Do not update unless you already have a good QT Library folder to which you can revert if there is a problem.

Sorry MaxiBoy1, I've been away over the weekend. Please find the link again to codec pack pre- 1.0.3 update that restores the XDCAM codec. Unfortunately, WeTransfer only lasts 7 days from now, but I hope that the v1.0.4 IanCook_Sony has suggested above that Apple has released will also resolve this XDCAM codec issue. If anyone can confirm this and post here, that would be great. I will complete my edit this week and then upgrade to v1.0.4 and see if this works. As I no longer have the 1.0.3 issue, I cannot check if it resolves the issue, just confirm that it doesn't corrupt the current XDCAM codec pre 1.0.3. I would suggest to anyone having issues to try v1.0.4 Apple Codec pack (skip v1.0.3) and see if this resolves the issue. If not, then I'm happy to keep posting my original Snow Leopard codec pack pre 1.0.3 until we have something solid from Apple.

Hey StevenEsqTwo I for one send a bucket of appreciation for posting this initial discussion and after discovering the Perian solution on a different forum (http://blog.lib.umn.edu/mcfa0086/discretecosine/164630.html) which only solved the read part of the XDCAM issue, you're post drive me to my Mac Pro with a clean install of Snow Leopard and FCP 7.0.1. I copied these codec files to the folder as suggested by your good self and it worked. I was so stuck by this upgrade (Apple Codec pack 1.0.3) in a work/professional capicily I thought that many others would also benefit from having a fresh codec pack (pre-1.0.3) to download as opposed to a fresh install of FCP/Sony Transfer program. I know this wasn't an option for my MacBook Pro.

Anyhow, any love and thanks that's aimed towards me, feel free to take a chunk of it SteveEsqTwo and keep up the helpful posts, it really saved my edit at the time, which was a 300GB/8-HD-multi-cam 94-minute concert, that I still made the deadline on. I will also be happy to continue active posts with guards anything Apple related, especially for the pro-users.

Cheers,

MAK

I can get to Quicktime Package contents but not sure what to do from there? THere are several folders: codesignature, macos, plugins, resourses, xpcservies. I don't want to delete the wrong folder contents before replacing with the one macbookpro provided. Also I have Maverick 10.9.1, will the quicktime libary snowleopard library still work?

Thanks!!!
