Before upgrading to Maverick I could hit the single button to show my history in Safari.
Now its gone and I'm having to click "Show history" up in the menu bar, then when done hit "hide History".
Just takes too much time...
Where did the button go and how do I get it back?

Go to your Safari Menu at the top of your screen > View > Customize Toolbar.
I've circled the "History" button in the screenshot below.
Select and drag that button to your Toolbar.
Apple is a bookmark not history.
Option + Command + 2 will show or hide history.

FYI, when I click the "history" button it doesn't take me back to the page I was looking at. I still have to go up to "History" and click "hide history".
