24 inch Cinema Display brightness range reduced after Mavericks upgrade.

After upgrading to Mavericks today, I noticed my Cinema Display is quite dim compared to what it normally is.

I can adjust it down, but not to complete black, and I can adjust it up but not to the brightness level I'm used to.

It appears the dynamic range has been compressed

Any ideas would be appreciated.

2009 Mac Pro, 16GB Memory

24-inch Cinema Display, Late 2008

ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB graphics

Update:

The display was still dim when I checked this morning. Upon arriving home after work and powering on the Mac, I noticed the display now seems back to normal. No idea as to what was causing it but problem is solved...for now.
