My videos aren't working properly

So I recently let my iPod fall into the hands of a 5 year old and when I got it back I discovered that I couldn't properly view videos.

Whenever I try to watch a video whether it be one I downloaded or one recorded with the camera (haven't tried YouTube/Netflix) I get this message saying that the video is playing on a tv; I don't have an Apple TV. I'm not sure how this kid did this but I'd really like to be viewing things normally. I'm probably just being stupid and missing some obvious thing in the setting but until I do notice this thing it'd a great help if you could tell me how to fix this~

Thanks- Emily

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
