Q: Brand New MBP Retina 13" froze twice in first day of use!

Literally opened it last night and used it heavily today to study and it frozw twice. keyboard and mouse didnt work only the power button worked so i held it down till computer turned off then I turned it back on. This is extremely frustrat

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

14 DAYS for a no-questions-asked full refund at the Store you bought it from. Which of course you can immediately apply towards getting another, presumably working, unit.

i know its just so inconvenient and ridiculous after droppin 1300 bucks to have to get a new one and reinstall everything all over again.... do you think it may just be software if this many ppl are experiencing this issue?

Since we are hobbled with ancient and obsolete gear, it is difficult to determine. There must be a reduced number of ASC members in the know that have purchased new gear and can offer a definitive reply. Hence my suggestion of leaning on the official Apple support channels.
