Oct 30, 2013 12:13 PM in response to seb101by rolandmac,Verry annyoing issue, takes really long to connect. Rebooting the system is probably faster.
I'm using a Macbook Air 2013 model. This seemed to be an issue after the release of the macbooks earlier this year, which was fixed by a software update.

Oct 30, 2013 9:29 PM in response to seb101by eeeprom,I am running into the same issue. Brand new Macbook Air with Mavericks. The only way I can get connected back to my access point after sleeping is disabling wifi and re-enabling it.

Oct 31, 2013 6:33 AM in response to sebofnantesby nixwizard,Same problem with 2013 MBA. Didn't have this problem even once with Mountain Lion. I'm toggling wifi off and on as a workaround but it's incredibly frustrating.

Oct 31, 2013 6:45 AM in response to seb101by mikkelnl,Wow, at first I thought it was just me
This is def. a problem since/with mavericks, I can't pinpoint when/where it will happen, cause it won't happen all the time, in about 50% of waking up the wifi will take ages to find networks and connect to mine, in the other 50% it will connect instantly - just like with Mountain Lion.
I really hope we won't have to wait for 10.9.1

Oct 31, 2013 6:57 AM in response to seb101by vincenzoP,This in NOT a solution but... if I rapidly turn off and on the WiFi, I reach the wireless in few seconds. So, what's the matter?

Oct 31, 2013 7:04 AM in response to vincenzoPby nixwizard,I'm almost certain it's a driver issue. More specifically, it has something to do with "re-establishing connection timer" when resuming from sleep. Yesterday I was going through system logs and there was one error message related to something like this. I googled it and only came up with some post by some OS X 10.9 beta tester/developer who called this message "system log spam". I also have a feeling that this bug might be somehow related to the TB-network-thingy that Maverics enabled..

Oct 31, 2013 7:06 AM in response to vincenzoPby seb101,I'm fairly certain it's a power management issue, Apple were raving about how much longer battery life is under Mavericks. I assume that the OS is telling the wireless adaptor to go into some kind of deeper low-power state than in Mountain Lion, and it has trouble recovering from this state - it's almost like it's performing a cold-start everytime.

Oct 31, 2013 5:57 PM in response to seb101by freshlyputsir,Also suffering from this issue. Turning the wifi off and on a few times does the trick usually, but it's definitely annoying to open my Macbook and not immedietely begin browsing the internet.

Nov 1, 2013 12:58 AM in response to freshlyputsirby nixwizard,To describe the problem more specifically, it does not seem to occur if my MBA has been asleep for hours. Like, when I come home from work and open the lid, it connects to my network immediately. However, if I then sometime later close the lid and open it 10 min later, the problem occurs with 100% certainty.
