Slow file open dialogue box

Hi,

I upgraded to Mavericks OS over the weekend and everything seems to work ok. The only thing I have noticed is that my when I try to attach a file in Mail the dialogue box opens and where previously files would immediately appear they now take several seconds, maybe as long as five, ten seconds.

I think I've noticed similar behaviour in other applications but Mail is the one I use the most in this way.

Has anyone else experienced this since upgrading to Mavericks?

Note that this issue was introduced by Apple on purpose, to force users to update to Yosemite.

The Yosemite bug I'm referring to is a long, long basketball (many seconds) while the Finder window is deciding to open.

This slow-finder-open bug is currently affecting me and others who are running Yosemite. It was not happening with Mavericks - it has started happening since installing Yosemite.

I'm running the most recent Yosemite (10.10.3) and having this issue as well. Crazy annoying.

I've been on Yosemite since it came out and this just started happening to me a couple days ago.

It's the "how silly long" bug - no choppy here. But it's not about slow drawing - it's about an interminable beachball before the dialog starts to open - once it decides to open it does so snappily.

That brings back memories. Dropbox turned out to be the cause of some other OS weirdness some time back. Can't remember what it was, though.

Yes...just confirming...signing out of icloud solves this problem for me. This should not be an either/or proposition, though. We need a fix.

SOLVED! The issue for me was Dropbox. Once I UNCHECKED 'Enable Finder Integration' in Dropbox Preferences, everything was back to normal with file dialog boxes on all apps. 🙂
