I used to be able to add icon (more like Aliase) to the Finder Toolbar.
They still work, I am still able to removed them but since Mavericks, I can't put new one in.
Did anyone find the new way to do it ?
or Is it another one of the 200 "Missing features" of Mavericks :-)

I found the following information by going to Safari's Help menu in the Menu bar and choosing Safari Help. Once the help window opened, searched toolbar which found the following Help topic:

It make sense, I help a lot of people mostly retired people and many of them found icon on their finder toolbar and did not know how they ended up there.
with the CMD key, it should not happen anymore
