flickering menu bar in mavericks

I'm also getting this flickering with my Macbook Pro and Thunderbolt display - the folder icons on the desktop also flicker.

I'm getting the same flickering and disappearing icons. Just started today. MacBook Air running new OS. Prettys ure its a software issue but comforting to hear that others are having the same issue starting today. Get on it support!!!

I noticed my 27" late 2012 iMac had a flickering Menu bar as well as my early 2009 MacBook Pro 17". The Macbook kept flicking to Safari on another desktop as if someone was controlling the Mac.. I restarted and the flickering went away. I'll see if it comes back.

I have exactly the same issue. Also on a Macbook Air but I only use the internal screen.

I already had to replace the Battery and SSD. Now, after upgrade to 10.9 I have these flickering and disappearing elements on the desktop.

I have to admit, that lately I got only problems with the Apple Hard and software. Afer the last WLAN update, my Network adapter was not running anymore. I had to wait half an hour.

I'm having the same issue here. I'm running a 15" MB Pro witih Retina, Early 2013, and a Thunderbolt Display. It's very frustrating. The flicker seems to happen just about every minute. I've restarted and the problem is persisting. The issue started today. Any ideas?

+1 for me on this issue - 15-inch, Late 2011, 2.4 GHz i7, 16GB 1333, AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024MB, OS X 10.9 (13A603), two TBD connected; started to notice flicerking finder and desktop strating yesterday 11/4.

Also getting this issue and it's strating to drive me crazy trying to write reports!

Retina 13-inch, Early 2013, 2.8Ghz i5, 8GB 1600, intel HD4000 - OS X 10.9 (13A306) - Two external displays connected over thunderbolt (VGA 26" and DVI 24")

Menu bar on both externals suffering intermittant flickering and as of 4th Nov desktop icons and any finder windows disapear and come back at random.

I just saw a fix in another forum that worked for me. I quit the Google Drive desktop app and the flickering went away.

Turning off Google drive seemed to work for me too!!! Thank you as this was driving me insane!!

I'm also getting my desktop icons flickering. I have a MBP 13-inch late 2011 with 4GB of RAM. I have google drive, but cannot turn it off because I use it all the time. The icons flicker every 50 seconds on an external monitor connected via DVI. This is one of many problems after upgrading to maverick...when is the update comming!!!!?????

i also turned off drive. intressting that it only concern google drive but not dropbox for example. wierd, but i hope apple does something about that.

Turning Google drive off worked for me. No flickering the last hour.
